Vehicle Depollution
The End of Life Vehicle Act (ELV) came into force in 2003. Any vehicle that has reached the end of its road worthiness must by law be taken to an Approved Treatment Facility to be depolluted before being recycled. Briggs Metals Limited is fully licensed and approved by the Environment Agency with an electronic link to the DVLA to enable us to issue a Certificate of Destruction.
All oils, fluids and tyres are removed by our trained operators and then removed from site for further recycling.
Vehicle batteries are stored safely in sealed containers and undercover and are dealt with under the terms of our licence.
When the vehicle is broken down it will eventually go on to the UK or worldwide recycling market.
